Adams only had 3 years

Adams was a transfer, he played at some MAC school before us so I don't think he left early.

Mitchell left for the NFL early...I guess he didn't wan't to play for Skip.

Adams gets my #1 vote...yards, jet sweeps, he had that TD kick return at Navy...I miss that guy even though we're loaded at WR.

CAREER RECEIVING YARDS

1. Andre Davis 2,136 2011-14

2. Rodney Adams 1,967 2014-16

3. Carlton Mitchell 1,648 2007-09

4. Dontavia Bogan 1,534 2007-10

5. Hugh Smith 1,523 1999-2002

6. Huey Whittaker 1,447 2001-03

7. Tyre McCants 1,441 2015-Present

#3 is a lock, and #1 is certainly reachable.

Of course, St. Felix might shatter it in 3 years.

Just to clarify for everyone...

We had a pocket passer before... Chad Barhardt

Also, Rodney Adams didn't leave early, he had transferred in from toledo and played his full eligibility.

BUT, on a serious note... If my memory serves me correctly, Blackwell was mostly a pocket passer as well. (I checked some stats, looks like in MBs senior year he ran on approximately 18% of plays, by comparison, Grothe ran on closer to 28% of plays in his Jr season, and Barnett is running on about 24% right now... this is QB plays, eliminating handoffs)

Mitchell would hold the top spot if he hadn't left early most likely. He was probably our most talented WR to date in my opinion. Good combo of speed and size. StFelix could get there as well. He needs to add some weight and I don't think he's as tall as listed.

Across the board, I feel like our WR corps is deeper than it has ever been. McCants is a beast, he should move well up the board by the end of the year.

It would've been incredibly helpful to have Mitchell that final year too. The season after his departure was the year where the WR corps was described as the "island of misfit toys". That's the year that we had to flip players like Lamar and Mitchell to WR.

Side note ...

Bulls who left early for the purpose of turning pro (I think I got them all):

Shurron Pierson

Marlon Mack

Carlton Mitchell

Darrell Scott

(also Dom Dwyer and at least one tennis player)

You forgot Pierre Paul and I expect Barnett will be on this list next year.

I wouldn't be so sure on Barnett.  It would depend on his projection.

I agree it would depend on projection, but I think the 2019 QB class will be weaker with the leaders being the like of Drew Locke, Ryan Finley, and Will Grier (Justin Herbert could go in either 2019 or 2020). In 2020 he would have to compete with names like Tua Tagovaiola, Jake Fromme, Shea patterson, and Kelly Bryant. His projection this year might inflated this year and deflated in the next.

Bryant also has the option to go in 2019 and probably will with trevor Lawrence looking to take over. Patterson could leave to but he may stay to get another year of tape out there.
