Image result for florida flag

yes, it was the State of Florida flag.  Really cool to see. Also, major props to whoever put up the flag in one of the endzones, the one the that Salomon pointed to after a TD.  We had a strong presence in Chicago.

Never knew state flags were a thing...unless you count those that have some confederacy incorporated.

Funny (and somewhat sad) story:  My wife is an administrator for Hillsborough County Schools and got a call from an incensed parent exclaiming how her child's school would allow a symbol of racism to be displayed in her child's classroom and that this has caused her child to be traumatized and feel demeaned.

You guessed it, it was the flag above.   <sigh>

Some people believe that when the red bars were added in 1900 it was a homage to the Confederacy.  Others believe it was to add color to a boring white background that looked like a surrender flag when blowing in the wind.

This is hilarious.  I'm a teacher  and some of the things you hear on a daily basis, whether it's from parents or kids, is astonishing.

The red cross in the Florida flag is the Cross of Burgundy, or Burgundian saltire, which was used in the Spanish Empire flag when it had sovereignty over Florida.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
