INFLCR, University of South Florida launch partnership

Via the INFLCR mobile app and software, USF athletes are already sharing hundreds of content items produced by the university to reach a larger audience.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Influencer (INFLCR) founder and CEO Jim Cavale announced the signing of the University of South Florida as the company’s first client from the American Athletic Conference.

INFLCR is a software-as-a-service that is helping programs like USF, brand their student-athletes, alumni, coaches and other brand ambassadors, through the provision of digital content produced by the university, which these brand ambassadors can access and share from their INFLCR mobile app to their personal social-media platforms [such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat]. INFLCR then helps USF track the “audience lift” it receives via the much-larger collective audience of these brand ambassadors, while continuing to help them grow their personal brands [in the context of their university’s brand].

USF athletes are receiving and sharing hundreds of photos and videos produced by USF and delivered in personalized galleries directly to their smartphones. In only the first week of activation, they downloaded 220 items, reaching an audience of more than 76,000 on Instagram and more than 32,000 on Twitter.

“Here at the University of South Florida, we don’t have a 100-year history to cling to,” said Dr. Andrew T. Goodrich, USF’s Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. “Rather, we embrace the role of a challenger brand, which is why we feel our partnership with INFLCR is so appropriate. In a biased world that clings to fallacies about who is deserving of respect based on history and tradition, we intend to show the world the truth about performance in the 21st century, and we will accomplish this, in large part, with INFLCR’s ability to amplify the personal triumphs of our student-athletes ands brand them as champions on and off the field.”

Cavale said the company is excited to begin work with one of the up-and-coming brands in college sports.

“I’ve gotten to know the staff on the media relations and communications side at South Florida since they played in the Birmingham Bowl late last year.” said Cavale, himself a former collegiate athlete. “It was neat to hear their heart for storytelling through content and digital distribution more than the traditional manners. They really get it. For us, early on, we can’t afford to work with just any school. We’re not looking to just sign up schools that have the budget to pay us. We’re looking for schools who are thinking in line with us — who are producing great storytelling content and want to use our system to help brand their athletes to help grow the brand of their school. South Florida is that school.”

Founded in 2017, the company now has clients from the American, Big 12, ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Mountain West, Conference USA and Sun Belt conferences.

so basically shareable media sent directly to USF athletes & personnel to be shared on social media?

not a bad idea, if I'm reading right.

USF's visibility on Instagram & Facebook leaves a lot to be desired from what I've seen.

in 2016 i couldn't find ANY USF football highlights on Instagram. i started recording my TV screen with my iPad (because i suck at the internets)  & posted them up. several players liked & shared those videos, not because I'm a cool guy or because the quality of the clips was good, but because they were literally some of the ONLY highlights available.

now there's another pretty good page (@SoFloBulls I believe) that does a very good job with pics, videos, edits, etc., but that's it other than random occasional content posted by players & fans.

if this INFLNCR thing leads to more social media visibility for the Bulls I'm all for it.

Sounds interesting. I'm not into much techno-wizardry but marketing the product is always a plus hope it works and grows the brand it's needed.
