A total of 11 true freshman saw action in the season opener - RB Johnny Ford (Miami), DB Vincent Davis (Jacksonville, Fla.), LB Dwayne Boyles (Miami), DL Rashawn Yates (Port St. Lucie, Fla.), DL Tyrone Barber (Venice, Fla.), WR Zion Roland (St. Petersburg), WR Terrence Horne Jr. (Miramar, Fla.), OL Donovan Jennings (Tampa), OL Sebastian Sainterling (Hollywood, Fla.), OL Brad Cecil (Jacksonville, Fla.) and OL Ethan Watson(Pensacola, Fla.). Yates posted one of USF's three sacks and made two tackles (1.5 TFL). "I'll have to give props to guys like Boyles, guys like Yates and Barber, because being a true freshman and playing in your very first game, I think that's big," junior defensive end Kirk Livingstone said.
