We stayed in a base 3-3-5 with very little gaming and blitzing up front.

That’s exactly what I said... Formation doesn’t fix the LBs over running & getting washed out of gaps however.

Boyles will be playing all year

I haven't seen anyone overacting other than the slight overreaction regarding any critic 🤣

I saw Nickel, 4 and 3 on the line etc against Elon...

3 down line men have to be even meaner than 4 men down, no matter the blitz package...particularly for run game.

Nickel type D is great for pass heavy O though...

I saw them running inside and outside with ease. That wasn't GTech speed we were watching.

Scary part for me...

54 took some questionable angles and took himself out of position several times.

That was Nico Sawtelle. He seemed to get sucked in too close to the line and his reads were bad as he would hit the wrong gap. This did not happen all game but he had issues.

He did seem to get smarter as the game wore on.  That's a good thing.  Bring on the Wreck!

I was impressed with Kierston Johnston before he was hurt last year. Did not see him on the field yesterday.  Don’t remember Polk out there either. Do we have more options?

there were definitely poor angles and guys out of position on the first couple of drives and during the 2nd half dropoff

I was wondering where they were as well. I thought I saw Polk dressed on the sideline. I thought one of them would unseat Sawtelle.

He is a LB

I know. LB are a big part of run defence and 54 who I believe played in the middle seemed lost

D line looked out of place at tImes #54 especially looked bad. Also really worried as they didn’t play physical. They keep saying that they have depth there hopefully getting fresh bodies in helps.

if they don’t have significant improvement GT runs for 500yds. Ofence might not see the ball enough to make it a shootout.

The way your comment read made it seem like you were roping him in a DL.
