Against Elon. Next week the Rambling 'Reck are gonna be like a knife through butter. Anyone else concerned?? 1

They will try to go after the edge more than straight downhill. This will be helpful with our speed. We have been prepping for this offense since spring practice so I think the preparation will also be helpful. But even with all that, yes, it is a concern.

But this issue needs 2 be fixed asap. I think maybe our DTs are just too small now. By next year 3-4 of them will be over 300Ibs. I think after looking at the film, BJM will get them right.

I noticed how small we looked up front and how our D line looked like LBs. I took the liberty of calculating our starting D Line's size: AVG Weight = 269 lbs AVG Height = 6'3" I am concerned as well I think we are going to get pushed around up front all year long. As @George_Bullnard_Shaw or @slick1ru2 mentioned during the chat, we might have to rely on outscoring our opponents to win games this year. IMO we will be in a shootout against GT next Saturday... On the first few series, the holes off the edge reminded me of what we saw in Taggart’s 2 years here. 1

We shouldn't be too night because we beat an inferior opponent or too low because of mistakes. After game 3 if the same issues persist then it's a pattern. Enjoy the victory. Go Bulls!

I looked at depth chart for last year and avg weight was 271 lbs...lost weight in middle some but DE are bigger. Our second string DT Barber is 260lbs but a freshman. Our first stringers did pretty good after first drive in first half. That was a vanilla defense we ran also. Edited September 2, 2018 by Bulls On Parade
