New Lime Green USF Seems to Be Allowing

Has anyone noticed the abundance so far this year of the Barf/Lime/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles green that seems to signal a shift in branding by Athletics? The season tickets, the box they came in, new apparel lines on 3rd party websites, and even the team's new helmets? Is anyone else surprised by this? I feel like the school spent the better part of two decades doing its best to make sure "hunter green" was the green which represented the USF brand (other than the SoFlo stuff which was supposed to be a non-standard alternate set). I can't help but recoil at it given the campaign to set the nation straight on its darker green color following the change to the new logo in 2003. What does everyone think?

Here is the new helmet, for example - the iconic U logo is in the new color referred to in the poll above.

Faza, I felt the same way a month ago but it's growing on me so I checked Lean Towards Like it.

What did you expect from adidas? Half their stuff is some type of highlighter color.

Pretty sure USF approves the colors.

I’ve noticed that some on this board have a really hard time with change. It may be a flashier green, but it’s still green.  It also draws attention (and no, not bad attention all the time). There are still plenty of other items/uniforms/etc. that come in the standard green.

Let me help. USF green is still the dark green. A few years ago USF added accent colors to the green and gold. One of those secondary colors is called "Apple" and that is the lime green you are all talking about. It has been an official USF color for a number of years, but in a secondary position. 

Now, USF is about to announce some re-branding, I am willing to bet that "Apple" is about to be promoted into the top tier with our traditional green and gold. Now, we won't change our identity, we are still Green and Gold, just the green will now be in two shades. ((this isn't inside info, just what I have observed .... I also think the whole university will be using an Athletics logo for its identity, instead of the block USF in the square))
