Yeah, I remember rehashing all this 5-6 years ago.  I think most with a rational mind see pretty clearly now that Taggart's responsibility for that loss is minimal considering what he had when he came in.

It was enough to beat Uconn and Cincinnati. There was no excuse for having the worst loss to an FCS team in FBS history. Skippy dragged us to historic lows and in his first season CWT somehow managed to do the impossible and one up him. The fact still remains that xCWT has never maintained success anywhere so he is hardly an expert on the subject he chooses to pontificate on. Why doesn’t he share what his elaborate plan was for getting back to number 2 and then staying there?

Also, I cant wait for people to start giving CCS credit for recruiting guys like Bentlee Sanders, The Kelvins, St Felix, Bell, Marcellus, and Lapointe, even though they were comitted to CWT before CCS got here.....

Coaches should get no credit for the players they recruit.  They can only be used to minimize the success they have.

This place is seriously the best!

and make sure you blame that same coach when he loses to an inferior  opponent with absolutely nothing on the roster in terms of talent.

blame losses on coach and give credit to players for the wins.

Nobody is saying he shouldn't get credit for recruiting him but if you think USF's recent success was more of Willie Taggart's coaching than QF's athletic ability you are crazy

His plan was to load our roster with talent. seems like he did that and got us our first ever season ending ranking.

That's not true at all. It would be like if people on here tried to disparage CCS and say he owes everything to Bridgewater.

I've never had an elaborate plan for #2 in my life.

Talent alone does not build sustained success at a program. Plenty of teams that were swimming in talent have had failing programs. Until the moment where xCWT manages to show sustained success and program building vision he probably doesn’t need to be lecturing on the subject.

I've never understood this stance.  It's a coaches JOB to recruit guys who make them look like geniuses.
