I think the point being made is that our 3rd string CBs may not be able to cover and also may have hands made of stone. INTs or lack thereof does not necessarily indicate good or bad decision making. There is some luck involved. Maybe you complete a pass that was tipped off a defenders hands and it's a TD. Was that a good decision/throw? Probably not. Stats are not the end all be all of quality play. Without more info, one cannot look at stats (or tweets about stats) and determine who looks the best in practice. I tend to agree with leadership... with QF on the way out, I would think that Kean would have been stepping up his game to show that he can fill those shoes. Having academic issues immediately upon receiving your first real chance to play doesn't bode well for leadership qualities.

This.

Any QB, doesn't matter how many stars after their name, throwing INTs in red zone work isn't going to be named starter.  IMO coaches hate that.

The way that I see it is that BK is #1  and  Barnett and O are competing late in practice for who is going to be #2

Exactly. He made a mistake of some sort ... I guess we'll never know what exactly it was ... but he worked to get it shortened to 2 and then to 0. I'm not sure he wins the job on the field, but if he does, I can't imagine this coming into play.

It's not even a vortex. The gap between the G5 and P5 has never been so evident.

Just put the best on the field and let him know there are two others breathing down his neck. We havent been in this position in a while. Its a nice discussion to have!

I don't think for a second it is going to be the deal breaker for who wins the starting job. But, as someone who teaches college classes and was a college athlete, it is a red flag. Passing all your classes is not incredibly difficult. I highly doubt he's a rocket science major, so he pretty much blew off a class and got burned. That's not a desired quality in the guy you're trusting to lead an offense. There's a reason insurance companies give a discount to kids who get decent grades. Kids who can't make passing grades in high school and college usually make dumb decision elsewhere. We can debate all night how relevant an education is to the rest of your life, but there is a corollary there.
