Is increased student attendance not enough of a reason to move forward?  Students eventuallly turn into non-students with memories of what it was like to attend as students.  But this is progress for you, glad you are coming around.  :)

Did the renovation of the Sun Dome increase student attendance?

The fact that UCF was mentioned in the report at all is embarrassing.  We don’t want a stadium like theirs....  I mean wtf, the stadium they have now would probably cost 150mil, easy.  50 something percent of students claim distance is an issue with thier attendance, we are one of the lowest revenue producers in the conference, and we want to talk about doing it “right?”  I swear, the folks in Oviedo are causing us to lose our minds, metal stadiums are everywhere in the P5.

What's the Bulls record since that renovation?

Ahhhh yes, the old comparing basketball attendance to football attendance. C’mon man that talk is just silly for a number of reasons that should not have to be discussed.

Yet, the greater distance to Ybor doesn’t seem to be a problem for them.

The report, game day attendance, and common sense disagrees with you, but you do you.

I've been in rayjay when it was packed, it was loud, we were winning, and the culture was unbeatable.

How did this fanbase get to a point where a new sexy building was more important than that?

How did the fan base change?  We left the Big East and stopped playing P5 teams on a regular basis at home.  We were the new shiny thing back then.  Now everything has changed.  We have had a few seasons of winning post BE, like last year, and attendance has sucked.  We should have capitalized back then, but we did not.  Thinking that winning now will bring us back to those days is missing what the real issue is.  We need to build our fan base from within and an OCS is key to that.  It is a long term view that folks can’t seem to grasp.

yes, winning helps, but playing P5 teams helps much more for a fanbase as young as ours and we are not doing the things we need to do to build that fanbase from current students.  The weekly P5 matchups are not coming back.  The winning has.

Further.... we have had more combined wins in the last three years than any three year period in our history.  So no, winning is not the issue.

I would guess that a LOT of those earlier BE fans just found other things to do.

Yet another group thinks that those glory days will come back and all we need to do is win.... that was and will never be the case.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
