CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The two Georgia Tech players who appeared Wednesday at the ACC Kickoff were smart enough not to speak at length about their Sept. 8 game at USF, considering they have a Sept. 1 game against Alcorn State.

But be assured, the Bulls already lurk in their psyche, if not their sound bites.

"When we're in workouts at 4:45 (p.m.) in the blazing sun trying to push each other, everyone's panting … I tell the guys, 'Hey, it's gonna be like this the second game of the season in Tampa,'" senior QB TaQuon Marshall said.

It never destroyed us against Navy. We may have lost one of the games but we seemed to prepare well for it. I’m sure Strong being defensive minded also helps. Not to mention our defense was overall pretty bad in Taggart’s time here.

What does everyone see the attendance being for this game?  I mean with Georgia Tech being from the ACC does anyone know how many tickets were allotted to fans to buy through Tech?  Are they bringing their band?

Noon in the 99 dollar section is going to be fun. I'm used to sitting in the shade, I don't think my better half is going to make that trip. I may have a ticket up or grabs if you don't mind a little sun....or a lot of sun.

I’ll say this. As a coach I would be working on stopping the triple option a lot during fall camp. One stat I saw was when a Georgia Tech opponent had more then 2 weeks to prepare for them they are something like 0-4. I know for a fact last year as bad as Tennessee was they were able to get stops when they needed to. 

Charlie Strong is a defensive minded coach so he should schematically be able to have the Bulls ready. Obviously like all games against Power 5 teams it will come down to the trenches on the offensive and defensive line. Georgia Tech does a lot of cutting and that is difficult to simulate in practice so it will be interesting to see how our new D-line can handle that.
