I can’t stand the comments from Gilbert in this, aside from the fact that he didn’t blame the players which is a good gesture.  Hopefully this offense is better managed this season.

If 59th is our down yet as a G5 team, with big years on either end, then 59th is perfectly fine. 59th is a winning record, bowl trip and upper 1/3 of our conference. 

If 59th was our peak year, then yes, we have a problem.

Yeah, that’s what I did when I watched our offensive numbers go down and we let teams like San Jose State and Tulsa compete with us , which is a fact.  Didn’t we run more plays per game last season as well?  We won’t have QF to bail us out of those games this year, and I think that’s a legitimate concern.

Losing two NFL players and completely changing a coaching staff sometimes makes your offense 3%-5% less effective.

Yeah, except they didn’t go down. Scoring was down 6 a game, though, to a horrific 38 points.

That's the philosophy of The Slow Coast Offense, remember, CCS really wanted to slow things down when he arrived on campus.  Everything is working out to plan.
