Preeminent status in the state, a named corporate sponsor for the Sun Dome, a very promising new AD hire . . . great happenings at the alma mater! Go Bulls!

Just when I think there's nothing left for some of you to ***** about, you surprise me.  If he wants to try to convert Tampa Bay locals that root for another school I say, more power to him.

Kinda wished the board worked that way ...

I'm just not clear on how you have a vice president if you don't have a president.  And how do you have deputy directors of athletics if you don't have a deputy director?  I know it is just titles and the jobs are what they are.  Just doesn't make sense to me.

I’m pretty sure that the “Vice President” title places the role on par with other university Vice Presidents. So... Judy is President.

In many organizations, you have the president of the organization and then vice-presidents in charge of certain aspects of the organization.  Their title is often listed as Vice President of area of responsibility.

For example, an Architectural and Engineering firm will have a president of the entire company and then have a, "Vice President of Architecture" and a, "Vice President of Engineering"

Nothing like a little minor league humor to close down the evening 😉

You gotta relish the battles won even though the war won't be ............... probably.

USF's track record with athletic directors is not great. The last two, Doug Woolard and Mark Harlan, were swell guys, but not great at their jobs. Kelly seems a bit more dynamic and on the ball than those two, but there's no question that this hire is a bit of a gamble.

Brilliant observation, Tommy .......... considering ANY hire is going to be a gamble.

He should have said it’s a good hire...on paper.

He did say it was a safe hire. An equally ambiguous description ...

That would be like the Rays signing Kershaw this offseason and someone tweeting that his high school coach always thought he was an awesome pitchers and the Rays made a nice signing.

That is a horrible analogy ...... (I was all set to add an exclamation point but didn't want to appear to be piling on)

I’ve sent this question to the USF Assistant Undersecretary of Internal Information Affairs.  He should be able to explain this title thing.

I am too.  So all the people that are Deputy and Asst Directors of Athletics will now come Speaker of Athletics?  And who is President of Athletics?

I think that there's only one President at USF and a bunch of Vices, Senior Vices, Executive Vices, etc, etc...

Where's the delete button?
