All things considered, we have to feel pretty good. A solid core returns and our entire recruiting class is intact unless Garabitos takes 25th round money just to go pro. We should be able to stay competitive and not bottom out - which was a real possibility.

You'd like to think our returners are going to step up their game. Villar and Montes aren't going to be easy to replace on their own, but a cumulative effort from the returners can offset their loss. I still think pitching is going to be the big thing to worry about.

That it is, I do believe there is talent in the young arms though. They certainly could surprise us.

Can someone who knows more than myself explain how it's even possible for guys like Genord, Strezlecki, and Stunkel to go through 40 rounds without getting drafted? Especially Genord.
