He had a 20-something yard attempt in that game, and it seemed like the ball sailed out of bounds at about the five yard line. Not sure what his career numbers looked like, but he seemed to choke under the bright lights on that night. Thankfully, he made the one at the end of regulation that sent that game into overtime. Great win that night.

Nevins was ridden to the WCWS if I remember correctly. Yup. I'm literally ashamed at people for not knowing or crediting her.

I remember the mid 80's team with pitchers David Eiland and Mark Rose, but especially catcher Scott Hemond. I thought, and still think, he was the best college catcher I have ever seen. There were others on the team I'd like to mention I just can't think of right now (my age is showing). Coached by Hall of Famer Robin Roberts with Eddie Cardieri his second in command. I just wish we could have had the baseball/softball complex we have now back then. The old field certainly left something to be desired.

The NCAA tournament was different back then with no super regionals. All those great USF players always had trouble in the tournament (kind of like now). I distinctively remember watching us beat the Gators on that old field. The wind was always blowing out so I saw a lot of long balls then.

I remember seeing a lot of future major leaguers come through the old field. One of the most memorable was Pete Incaviglia from Oklahoma State. Watching him lose balls over the trees in left field was a sight to behold. Always enjoyed the Florida, FSU and Miami games and they were always packed.

Wish I had a video) Shahib (great dunks!) Alexander (keep looking for him in the ATL.) I don't get to many basketball games but I used to be a season ticket holder and have fond memories of the late 80's, early 90's teams.

Also got it signed by Jessica Dixon, Alisha Jenkins and Courtney.
