I got to cover USF sports for almost a decade, traveled with teams, etc. and there were so many great athletes and coaches. But I was always even more impressed with them as people. We should be very proud of how the vast majority of our student-athletes represented - and still represent - our beloved university. When my daughter recently chose USF to continue her studies, I reached out to a bunch of coaches and former student-athletes that I've come to know and asked them if they would write her a brief "congrats" email. You absolutely wouldn't believe what she received from them! Messages that were thoughtful, articulate, and filled with Green & Gold pride. It kind of took my love for the university to a different level. GO BULLS!

Hey Dave, any chance you could post a few covers from your old publication during this slow off season? I was a subscriber but honestly can’t remember (old age). Would be fun to look back on that.

I have some great memories of Jimmy Baxter and Victor Rudd throwing down some disgusting dunks. Those guys were fun to watch.

Have to agree that Nevins is head and shoulders above anyone else at their position in their sport at the time they played.

GO BULLS!

I don't have any kind of special relationship with him. It is part nostalgia and part random, obscure reference. 90% or more of USF fans aren't going to recognize Reggie Kohn.

I graduated in 1997 so the football team wasn't a part of student life. We all felt the basketball team was "right there" (in 2001-2002) to make that leap with those Seth Greenburg teams with BB Waldon and Altron Jackson. It was a good early lesson in life to see expectations rarely match reality.

What I liked about Reggie was although he didn't look like he belonged out there, he was fearless and would shoot from anywhere. Still holds the record for most 3's made at USF.

I have fond memories of Reggie, great player for us.

I still remember listening on the Net during one game (no TV coverage or USF access) and listening to the other team's coverage -who kept calling him, "Corn."

Just out of curiosity, why Delbert?
