How does an unranked UCF rocket past us for a 6-stroke lead?

They're playing at home, right? Looks like the Bulls are starting to make a run this morning . . .

Gotta hope they don't win this tournament or they will probably declare themselves national golf champions too through transitive properties...

USF has settled in and is essentially battling for 4 spots in the next round with 6 teams. I am baffled how UCF, as an at-large team, was able to get to play at their home/hosting site. They sent #6 in the nation LSU out to California for their opening round, but the Knights get to play at a course that they obviously know very well. Not really fair, but I see USF passing them by tomorrow with a strong finish. I think we end up in 2nd place in our region.

Believe it was luck of the draw with UCF getting home course.  Didn't the national championship rounds get played just an hour south of Tampa the year we made the final 8?  CSB was pretty happy with getting that course in Kissimmee. Same grasses as we are used to playing on.  And, to the person that asked, top 5 go. Don't know how ties are settled.

We are only 2 clear of not making the Top 5 so expect to see some nerves tomorrow.

As for UCF's team, they played us pretty much even at the event in Gainesville earlier this year.  They've got a nice squad.

It's quite different playing for the national championship versus playing in a regional. You should try and geographically protect higher seeds and not give an advantage to lower seeds. Just my opinion. UCF should have been shipped to Columbus or California.

KISSIMMEE, Fla., MAY 15, 2018  Priyanshu Singh fired a 5-under 67 to help fourth-seeded USF remain in fourth place during Tuesday's second round of the NCAA Kissimmee Regional.

No. 20 USF improved on its first-round score by a shot with a 7-under 281 at Reunion Resort's Watson Course (par 72, 7,154 yards). At 13-under, head coach Steve Bradley's Bulls have put themselves in a solid position heading into Wednesday's final round.

The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each of the six 54-hole regional tournaments advance to the NCAA Championship rounds. USF is looking to book a trip to the NCAA Championship rounds for the third time in the past four seasons.

Singh (Delhi, India) boosted the Bulls on the second day of their sixth straight NCAA Regional appearance by carding a season-best 67. The stellar round that included six birdies helped the senior jump up 38 spots on the leaderboard to a tie for 18th place at 2-under.

Cristian DiMarco leads the Bulls overall at the tournament after using three birdies to card his second consecutive round of 70. The senior from Longwood, Fla., is currently tied for 12th place at 4-under and he's four shots off the lead.

Claudio Correa followed up his first-round 69 with an even-par 72 that included four birdies. The senior from Santiago, Chile is tied for 15th place at 3-under.

Jimmy Jones stayed in the top 25 by shooting an even-par 72 a day after carding a 71. The senior from Tampa is currently tied for 23rd place at 1-under.
