Why does USF Fail in Track & Field

Last for the women and next to last for the men. Men had one 1st place winner in the (triple jump) and the women had none. How could a program in Florida be so bad? Where are the sprinters???? Are our facilities poor? If this was a revenue sport MH would be making a coaching move now.

That is bad.  Get new coaches or fold? 

You could never get rid of the women's program, but I'd put the men on notice.  Save some change for the IPF.

I suspect dropping the women's program would have a Title 9 impact. Perhaps replace it with bowling. The lack of a quality men's team is inexcusable.

We had a speedster on the Football team last year who wanted to run track. Quit the fb team and said he wanted to go to fsu where they have a real track team so I guess there is something there. I mean what scrutiny does the track coach face?

Good point. There has been some turnover in other Olympic sports over the years but I can't recall reading anything in the past few years that USF made a coaching change in track.

That's the thing.   You think recruiting against uf, fsu, and miami at football, basketball, or baseball is tough try doing that at a sport like track.

 

We hosted the conference meet didn't we?   At least we didn't have to travel far for the butt whooping

It looks like we are looking to add Women's Rowing.  I'm not sure how that's going to allow things to change on the men or women's side from a Title IX standpoint.
