Regarding the QB position (sorry to change the subject), I think it's going to come down to our O-line. If there's protection, the new guy might have a real shot at starting. But if the O-line is porous like in past years, we are going to need a mobile Q --who can run for his life or otherwise.

I think the staff wants to play traditional football at USF (pocket passer), but can they make the O-line do what no other staff has been able to do?

1st play: run up the middle for 1 yard gain.

2nd play: run up the middle for 3 yard loss.

3rd and long: What are you going to do?

Exactly, I haven't been this excited about a QB transfer since AW stepped on campus.

Is it wrong I'm secretly rooting for Barnett to come in and play lights out and win the position? (Well not secretly anymore)

Run that **** a third time.. We averaged 5 yards a carry last year, so we're due for an 11 yard run.

Nope, no problem with that. I don’t mind saying I got a bit of that too. Hope Barnett looks at this as his last chance and worst case scenario pushes  the other two to be better. Regardless, I want the QB who is going to win us games and I could care less if he is from Bama, USF, or a freshman.

If he does, we win. No need to be secretive about it. I hope every transfer plays lights out. Not because I don't like the other guys, because it means he's better than the other guys.

I'm getting that feeling, too.  If it works for us then that's awesome, but I've never seen us as really a pocket pass style offense.  Most of our team comes from Florida, and from what I've seen the best option is to spread things out with Florida speed.  Again, if this works then awesome.  But I don't know how much the program can afford a failed attempt.

I have a friend who was part of Alabama football when Barnett was there. He said that he was lazy and full of himself. Hopefully he's matured now that he's older and has a family. That could be what he needed to make his talents translate into success at the collegiate level.
