QB controversy here we come....

Former Arizona State QB Blake Barnett will be taking an official visit to USF this weekend, according to Bruce Feldman.

The former five-star recruit and one-time Alabama quarterback is in search of a new home as a graduate transfer. He will be eligible to play immediately and have two years of eligibility left wherever he chooses to play.

This isn't something a staff does when they are confident with the QB's on their roster.   The drop off from Flowers to Kean/Oladokun might be bigger than most anticipated.  You don't add another horse to the QB derby if you think you have the guy on your roster.

Is it weird that no matter how many times transfers end up being a complete and total bust I still get excited and think this could be the one time it makes a difference? I mean it has to work out sometimes or else no one would bother, right?

What does this say about our current QB situation (in the eyes of the coaches).

Low risk, high reward. Worst case scenario, you get a solid backup arm and it's only a two year commitment.

That neither Kean nor Oladokun have 5-star tools.

I don’t know that anyone is ever too confident about people that never taken meaningful snaps at their respective levels. Well maybe fans where any guy on the bench has “potential” to be better than the starter, all the stars that could have been if not for the coaches and their favorites.
