So who would now be the #2 center? Not familiar with anyone with center experience beside Wiggs.

I can tell from his twitter likes he is very pro NRA.  I think people always want to blame someone else but in reality it is hard for a walk on to get a fair shake even if battle tested.  Gotta respect his contribution to the program and help build it back up.  I hope our O line is in good hands but I honestly havent been that impressed in Gilbert or Maddox but then again fan access is very limited compared to Taggart days.

Ahh..ok then that makes sense. So he thinks the liberal coaches are out to get him. You make a good point about walk-ons but we have had more than a few who have fought hard and started or played significantly. Sometimes it’s just the talent. Yes, hope he moves on and has a successful career in whatever he decides to do.

Other comments in his post aside, it's hard to believe a coach is playing "who he wants" over "best" player for the job. A college coach is only as good as the product on the field. If Maddox wants a raise, a promotion, etc. he's not getting it playing inferior players. His entire professional and financial well being is based on how well the line does. I have no reason to not like Larkin, but it takes a stretch to think he's being shafted as a walk-on and other players are starting and playing over him based on liking one guy over another. The difference between an O-line coach and let's say an OC is hundreds of thousands of dollars. If Maddox wants to someday move up the line, his personal vendetta against Larkin is going to cost him the difference between a good living and a great one.

I know this isn't an apples to apples comparison, but back when I was coaching baseball at the high school level, I had a long discussion with a parent about this same sort of thing and I asked him flat out, "Do you really think I'm going to deliberately try and keep us from winning as many games as possible and that my entire employment is based on how well this team performs?" He didn't want to hear that his kid was a 10 on the ******* scale and 1 on the hitting scale. Now if he was a 10 ******* and a 7 hitter, the dad would have had some beef.

You don't stay in the coaching profession for 12 years not playing the players you think give you the best chance to win .... wasn't there a big deal made by Strong last year giving a schollie to walk on so I can't imagine there's a prejudice like that on this staff.

He should have just posted the first part, then handled his issues in person.

So he was told he was too selfish and his response was to burn a coach on Twitter for no gain except to make himself feel better about his perceived slights?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
