That's quite a reach... sounds to me like the coach knows exactly what's going on.  A backup walk-on is complaining about getting a shot he hasn't earned.

I second this. I was told at work once that I was getting a promotion. We've been bought twice in recent years and my boss is no longer around.  **** happens...Im blessed I have my job.

If he loves his old boss so much maybe he can crack the oline in Tally!

What? A greater chance that the kid is not very good and may have been used to motivate others. But I am pretty sure all coaches want to play who is best.

He is upset that the line coach did not give him reps, I am sorry but most of us have played football right?  Did you behave this way when things didn't seem fair to you?  

Anyway, he went to the head coach who naturally would defer to the guy he actually hired to manage this kind of thing.  

As for the voting thing, that must be something they do.  I think it is pretty telling that they actually cut him loose though.  That means his peers agreed with the coach - red flag number 1.

The guy sounds a wee bit entitled to me and that he wasn't good enough to start and the kid didn't agree - when I read between the lines. 

He then proceeded to take to twitter which is another red flag.
