Your take on this past football season

What's your final stand on this past football season? Let's say it's ten years from now and someone asks about 2017. What do you tell the person?

My take is this:

Could have been one of the best seasons at USF. We had so much offensive talent, including the best-ever QB at USF and some great RBs. When Ca$h went to Oregon, it all went downhill from there... We all thought Strong and his staff would just come in, tweak, and it's instant success. Nope! The defense improved but that was all. We had no business losing to Houston. The UCF game was a great game. We just got snake bit at the end. Great bowl win. Good season, I would say. Fun year. What an awesome bunch of seniors and guys who rebuilt USF from the bottom up; they put USF back on the map.

Meh, we won the Birmingham bowl. Not really putting us on the map. That's the worst bowl game for the sec. The hallmark of a bad season for most top teams.

"It was a blast to watch Quinton Flowers do his thing, especially in the last 2 games, to be a part of watching a special kid put a team on his back the way he did will be the memory I am left with"

 

Not for nothing, but, I fully believe this team would have lost at least 1 game even if CWT had stayed. The defense would have continued to regress and teams would have done everything they could to play keep away from us. CCS may not have put the product on the field that some were expecting, but, the only take-away from that is that we as fans had inflated expectations, especially of CCS being able to come in and improve what we had. It's always a transition. In the long run, I actually think he's a better coach than CWT, but, CWT had some lightning in a bottle with the offense. Thinking we were going to see that again was our own fault.

Worth every penny it took to see QF play. Only 4 plays away from a perfect season. Most boring record setting offense, but we got to see QF play.
