Illinois plays games in Chicago pretty often lately.  I don't think there is much to read into why.

If it is at Solider Field (which it appears more and more likely that this remains the case, since USF changed their website in the last 24 hours), then I am definitely in.

Champaign... not so sure.

I will be there with him if it's in the Windy City.

Any idea why the game is in Chicago?  The stadium will be pretty empty.

Regardless, this seems very fun for a family trip. Considering it....

I believe I read somewhere that they do this every two years to connect with alumni in Chicago.

And yes - it is a fun trip.

I've stayed there a few times.  Thinking of booking that one, too.   Just a block off Millennium Park and Michigan Avenue.

I've heard that USF wanted the game in Chicago for their alumni as well.  Just booked airfare via Southwest today.  Sept just opened up. About $280 RT depending on which flights.

I will look into going.  My brother lives up there, and lives near the Cubs, so if I could do a Bulls and a Cubs game, I may be able to make that work.

Soldier Field's pretty cool, if you haven't been there before.  The locals say it's a very nice historic stadium that looks like a spaceship landed on it.

True. They kept the columns from the old stadium and that’s it. They gutted it and landed a UFO in the shell.

Spirit has a non-stop for $137, plus their fees.  A good alternative if you're ok with no-frills.
