He owned over 600 people during his life. He did very little bringing on his own.

That’s only one perspective of the most contradictory founding father. Although he failed socially (and that can be argued against from the perspective of his times), his intellect is non debatable.

His intellect was incredible. But most of his intellectual work the average person is familiar with was built on the backs of others, too.

I’m a George Mason fan myself.  The man, that is (not the university).

Some perhaps. Without question, based on his writings, TJ knew owning leaves was wrong. However, he had no choice but continue the ugly practice as he was always in debt (one author said he had compulsion to buy like a gambler likes to bet and it was a psychological issue with him). I also don’t think, even if he could have controlled his spending, Jefferson had the stomach to be a trend setter relative to slavery.

I wonder what he would have thought of the faux ucf Championshilp LOL!

One of better yet lest known founders...showed some stones by not signing the constitution. Incidentally, my daughter is looking at this school if USF does not come through.

He'd have loved it. As he says in the DOI (lifted from Jonathan Mayhew's work), whenever you've been subjected to a long line of abuses from your leadership, it is your God given right to alter or abolish it. Since the CFP (like King George) isn't about to bend to the will of the non-P5 colonists, **** em.

I live in Gwinnett County here.  They almost named the Braves Triple A team the Gwinnett Buttons.
