Sheriff,

Seth needs to win one post season game to sell me again that he is a good coach. Seth knows hoops, but I have yet to see him coach good games when it  mattered the most.  You witnessed it live in person when you traveled to watch USF get smoked by a very bad USM team a few years. The bottom line is that Seth put together a team that should have made the BIG DANCE in 2001. A 6-0 start in 2001 looked very promising, but then USF loses to an overrated UF team. USF goes on the road and gets bullied by a Syracuse team then the rest is history. There were so many big games that USF choked in 2001. The Charlotte game on ESPN hurt real bad. How can a team with Altron, BB Waldon, Reggie Kohn, Will McDonald, Greg Brittain, Kelvin Brown, Brian Swift, Terrance Leather, Gerrick Morris, Mike Bernard, etc not win a post season game?? We should have made the NCAA's with better coaching IMO. That was the make or break year for Seth and USF. You know it. It had great moments such as GreenbergOpolis. It had real low moments such as Kelvin Brown leaving the team. A trip to the BIG DANCE would have done wonders. I can guarantee you that we would be in better shape now if we did make the dance that year.  You complained about getting an NIT banner while I was happy to at least get that because I knew the program was going down hill from there. I dont hate Seth because he actually helped USF by leaving on his own. I can gaurantee you that USF would be even worse if Seth would have stayed. Seth did USF a big favor.

I think VT will be able to attract better recruits in the long run, by virtue of geography. I think Florida is a tougher sell even though both schools are in the same league. Miami has a slightly higher basketball profile right now, thanks to Leonard Hamilton but as we all know Seth has the ability to turn programs around and make them competitive.

Anyway, where is the reference to this whole Seth/Miami thing? This whole discussion was predicated on unsubstantiated internet buzz.
