GoUSFBulls.com Women’s Basketball Announces First Early Signee

TAMPA, NOV. 14, 2017 – University of South Florida women's basketball head coach Jose Fernandez and his staff announced the first signee of his 2018 class Tuesday. International standout Iris Tsafara signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Bulls for the 2018-19 season.
 
"Iris fits our perimeter play needs in this class," said Fernandez. "She brings international experience along with high level club experience as well. It's exciting to bring another sound young lady into our Bulls family.".
 
Tsafara, a 6-0 wing from Athens, Greece, boasts experience with the U16 Greek National team. Tsafara led her team, the U18 Ikaros Kallitheas team, to the final four, where they finished second in the National A2 Division.
 
Tsafara grew up around the game of basketball. Her father, Kosta, currently practices medicine in Athens, but played professionally and coached in Greece. Tsafara plans to study Architecture at USF.
