No, it wouldn't. This is the kind of stuff that makes us as fans sound delusional We were on the same level as soon as we became conference mates and will be on the same level until that changes. 

You don't have Rivalries between teams on different levels.

Plus, unless I'm mistaken, those are basically the only two major, relatively speaking, college football teams in their respective states, so it would kind of make sense for some kind of relationship

Marshall and WVU dont play every season. They have played 12 times in 100 years. Marshall has never won.

I will give you CSU and CU play every season, but that "rivalry" was as predictable as the USF-UCF rivalry when you had a "P5" vs "G5" team.
