Based on how the season is going so far and the fact that it is HIGHLY unlikely we'd even sniff the playoffs, here's my perfect playoff scenario:

Penn State (or other Big 10 rep)

Alabama

Georgia

Notre Dame

That would leave the ACC, PAC12, and the Big 12 out of the playoffs.  IMO, the playoffs would be expanded for next season almost immediately.

Probably best case scenario for us.

I think putting UGA in will be big  enough to upset a lot of people.  It will be LSU/BAMA all over again.  I mean they will end the season playing Bama in the conference championship.   If they lose, no reason for them in the playoff at all.

No reason for people that believe that head-to-head matters

With Alabama and Georgia in the SEC championship, I don't see both in the playoffs.

Of course we all know how wrong I can be.

Lot's of the talking heads are saying that if the game is close, that they both have a chance to get in.  The PAC12 is pretty much out already.  If TCU loses, the Big 12 has a chance to be out.  The ACC would need Miami to lose maybe two and Clemson, one more.

It will be interesting to see if the Committee is as enamored with the Canes as our little buddy Baker and the rest of the AP voters ...

I would be surprised if the Canes hang in there - though, they do seem to be getting favorable bounces of the football and other lucky breaks this year

How great would it be to see Richt beat UGA in the playoffs

Of course - we would then have to endure months of the Talking Heads expounding on how the CANES ARE BACK BABY

Wouldn't the perfect playoff scenario be Alabama, Penn State, USF and TCU? I like this scenario a little better

The perfect playoff scenario would include USF and not Alabama ...
