What were McShay's reasons for suggesting that he stay?  Obviously there is less pressure and expectation at UCF but would be surprised that anyone would suggest that it's a better opportunity than Nebraska.  Regardless of whether it's UCF or any of the other G5 schools, seems like it would be hard to make a solid argument for sticking around in the current environment where there is a clear divide.

Get bent means to screw off, F-U, etc...

As someone else mentioned (and granted its from the perspective of a USF fan), I found it odd that he wanted Taggart to get out of town ASAP but is encouraging Scott Frost to stay and build something "special". It is probably random. Or maybe he doesn't like the program in Tampa over something? Or maybe he wants Frost to stay put because he is white and he is going to promote a black coach for that gig? This is the internet and its fun to speculate.

It would be amazing if Frost left and have no bones about rooting for it, just like how Cent Florida fans rooted for Taggart leaving last season. It would create uncertainty for that program and while they may get lucky like us and have an established coach fall into their laps, they may end up with an over-the-hill coach or miss on an up and comer. I set my calendar based on UCF 0-12 seasons.

At the time I made that comment I didnt read the story about what he did lol I cant hate that man though lol He seems like a nice guy, just helping pieces fit where they need to be. Besides, we need UCF to be good for our rivalry to grow. Uf vs FSU or FSU vs Miami rivalries helped both schools grow.

I really don’t have strong feelings either way about Frost staying at UCF. His demeanor seems a little rough (and that’s just from what I’ve seen during games). While a HC needs that to an extent (and we certainly enjoyed that with CJL), someone who flies off the handle can be troublesome these days (I’m not saying CJL did anything wrong, other than during the investigation, but you get my point). That’s just an observation, neither here nor there. Perhaps he’s more level-headed than he appears.

These discussions and the successes of both teams this season have pulled me toward rooting for continued success for both teams, so we can get the heck out of this conference together (assuming a package deal is more likely than one team being taken). That being said, I’m like many on this board and on both sides which have too many bad experiences with the other school’s fans to “root” for the other school during games. However, I do find myself being more ambivalent when I hear UCF won their game that weekend—compared to disgusted, in years past. Baby steps?

Nebraska is an Adidas school.

Oregon is a Nike school. My point was that when you have a boatload of money to throw at coaches, it's hard for said coaches to turn that down.
