And you know this from New Hampshire how?

Oh so let me get this straight Joey goes into his bosses office and says let me cover the Gators this weekend please? Give me a break....it only requires common sense to see what happened in that instance.

I'm no fan of JK's style of USF coverage, but I remember when I was happy to at least see a USF score reported somewhere. Not saying we should be happy with what we've got, but it's better than being completely ignored, right?

Bottom line: Joey has failed to make us feel like he's one of us. He confuses objectivity with detachment. Greg Auman was great because even though he was objective, we felt like he was part of the club and cared about USF as much as we do. Joey, on the other hand, doesn't seem to know how to join - or does, but doesn't want to.

A little late to the party, but I do like this analysis.  I'll take it a step further - Greg cared about doing his job well.  There are a few from the Times now that cover the Bucs, but anytime I see Greg posting something Bucs related, I can tell he's worked.

Seems to me like Joey is just coasting along in his job and he doesn't really care about doing a great job in his line of work.

I have no problems with the man. I think he is a fair reporter. If Bulls wants the media love, they need to earn it. In due time.

Oh please...like he had a say in the matter. His BOSS told him to cover the UF game. Your comment should be directed at the supervisors of the Times, not Joey.

Example #3445356 of how you just don't understand what it's like to be "Bulls first."

I think he is fine for the most part.

The part I have a problem with is the unwritten policy of bashing USF. I rarely see articles about the Bucs, Rays or Lightning that show the amount of disrespect from the media as I see for USF.

Maybe it is for clicks because of the amount of FSU, UF fans and non USF fans?

This is it, exactly.  I don't agree that he "bashes" USF, but there is definitely a bit of scorn that shows through JK's work and even more so from others like Fennelly when they write about USF.
