It probably deserves its own prominent thread ... Regarding the twit McMurphy, I wish writers that refute his BS would point out that he makes comments like those because of his history as a USF beat writer. It certainly would have been interesting knowledge within the context of that article.

It would be absurd if we go undefeated this year, get edged out by SDSU for the Peach/Cotton and then are relegated to playing a 6-6 SEC team as our reward (which may still happen). We need to have an arrangement with a bowl that if our champion doesn't make the NY6 bowls, then they go to a Sun or Liberty type bowl against atleast the second tier ACC/SEC/Big12 team. Getting a 9-3/8-4 team like LSU/Miami/TCU is a lot better then 6-6 South Carolina/Arkansas/Vandy.

Can anyone explain exactly why the ESPNs and McMurphys of the world don't embrace having another power conference (P6)? To me it seems like it would be good for business, more national level hype for them to cover. It can't just be a negotiation tactic to get cheaper TV contracts for AAC games, can it? There seems to be a bitter hatred from some (McMurphy) toward even the thought of a P6. It's baffling to me. Any thoughts or theories out there? They don't want to share their pot of gold with the unwashed masses like USF.

It bugs the P5 people. It makes them uncomfortable. They want the P5 thing to be settled and for everyone to just accept it. We shouldn't. Especially when 1/2 to 3/4 of the teams in the P5, when it really comes down to it (talent and competitiveness), aren't really "power" anything. At least not more "power" than anyone else. I mean, are Alabama and Kansas really both "power" schools? Nope. Texas and Northwestern? Nope. Florida State and Boston College? Nope.
