The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good: Defense only surrendered 228 yards, about what you would expect. 2 interceptions and only 10 points scored on the defense.

The Bad: Offensive line was offensive. Poor blocking and failed to pick most of the blitzes.

The Ugly: DJ has only 15 yards on 13 carries today.

Other observations: No deep passing game and with QF throwing high all day did not really get the passing game going for a time. Way too many runs up the middle where Tice did well (not great) and DJ did nothing. Our only jet sweep for the season netted 15 yards. Middle screens were also effective.

Good:  We won, defense for the most part did pretty good outside one play.

Bad: Another slow start 

Ugly: Horrible play calling way to vanilla, Flowers was horrible in the first half might have something to do with the rain though I hope, DJ is not looking good at RB up the middle...Tice is the better back for that style. No killer instinct in the coaches like Taggart, receivers dropping way to many of the good passes from Flowers.

Bad: With all the remodeling and addition of must be 2000 new tv's in the West Club area, they took 1 TV out of the bathrooms!

Good.  We seem to score when we need to.

Bad.  Offense is to simple this far into the process.  Occams Razor this is what our offense is OR our players are too stupid to memorize the advanced plays.

Ugly.  Stony Brook won the line of scrimmage against our D line.  Hopefully this is just effort and playing down but either way embarrasing.

Most importantly we got the win.

Seemed like a lot of teams struggled yesterday and wasn't just us. Next week is a new week and we need to make adjustments. Especially for conference play

Can't blame it on the personnel .

 

their safeties were within 7 yards of the line of scrimmage all game long. apparently our coaches didn't notice this because that's where we ran almost all our plays. oh and if it's raining have the receivers wear gloves. thought that was a given. none had them on in first half. they all had them in the 2nd half.
