Team looked like it was rusty but defense I think looked like it has potential.

Defense definitely looked better, even without Senat.

Agree 100%. This is why pro sports have preseason...to knock off the rust and see what their young players can do.

The first 2 games are pretty much our preseason.

First quarter almost made me sick (literally). I'm glad we rebounded. Now let's hope San Jose State ends up winning the rest of their games.

Most teams in college get off to rusty starts. Biggest improvement is usually between games 1and 2.

Playcalling and execution was poor on the first 3 drives.

Defense looked much better. I like the aggressive defensive calls in key situations.

Seemed like the OC  used the game to get to know his personnel.

A few head scratchers...Salomon had a good first half. Was he even on the field in 2nd half?  DJ has proven to be one of, if not the best pass catcher on the field. Not one throw to him all game?

Lost opportunity to get Kean more passing opportunities and experience. Why not keep running the offense. They went into slow down mode in late 3rd and4th quarter.

Once they got past the first 10 minutes  it really was more like we expected it to be. No team is going to score 60+ points everytime. After they settled down the offense was fine and defense played pretty well all game.

Scantling dropped one Wilcox dropped two and Barr dropped 2. All were great throws.

Game over. I knew my feelings about this game was legit. Whoever signed up for the opening game in Cali should be demoted.

Pretty sure that would be your AD.  Explained at the tailgate how this came about but don't recall the details. Something about him knowing someone at SJSU and a chance for the kids to go to California.  Other than bowl games these are business trips. They don't get to sightsee or anything. Airport to hotel to practice (in the case for this game) to hotel to game to airport. Not like they get a chance to do to Disneyland.

True...the stats don't tell the tale.  I can't recall one duck (save the intentional grounding), and maybe one risky one to MVS.  The drops hurt, and killed drives.

His deep passes were mostly dead on.  The TD passes were perfection.
