Today is the day we'll find out if any Bulls are named to the watch list for these two awards.  More on these awards and the remainder for this week:

 

Butkus Award

Presented to the nation's best linebacker by the Butkus Foundation

Named for ... **** Butkus, the former Chicago Bears Hall of Fame linebacker who played in eight consecutive Pro Bowls.

2016 winner: Reuben Foster, Alabama

 

Paul Hornung Award

Presented to the most versatile player in college football by the Louisville Sports Commission

Named for ... Notre Dame All-American and Heisman Trophy-winning back Paul Hornung, the only player to win the Heisman after playing for a team with a losing record.

That's awesome. It is almost a given that Sanchez will be on the Butkus list. Going to set a watch list record this year.

That is surprising. His production the last 2 years has been unreal. That is a watch list snub if I have ever seen one.

That seems crazy he could wind up as our all time leader and not be on this silly watch list.

Went back and checked and he made the watch list in 2016, making his exclusion in 2017 even more baffling, considering the numbers he put up last season were slightly better than his 2016 numbers. I know it isn't a big deal, but it is strange.
