Pretty sure donations go into a general fund . . .

We can have donations for seats go direct to a capital project.

When I make my season football tickets donation, it goes to the IPF.

We need to donate to help our programs grow, not as a reward.

Go BULLS !!!

I've got $5. Where do I send to support the football staff and another great year with a bowl and all?

That's the way it's done!  If all Bull's fans sent half their net worth like F2B we could have that OCS built in no time.

Looks like we should cut every program except men's basketball, the only profitable team we have.:conduct:

Title IX prevents this.

if we have a Men's hoops team we are legally obligated to maintain the epic money pit that is Women's hoops.

no disrespect to our ladies' hoops squad, they are a very solid team... But WBB just doesn't generate revenue at any level.

even the NBA maintains the WNBA at a loss & they aren't even legally required to do so.

This is 100% wrong.

Good talk.

an oversimplification? sure. 100% wrong? nah.

institutions receiving public funds aren't required to maintain "mirror image" athletic teams, compliance is dependent on relative interest & proportional participation in a given sport & compared in the aggregate (total men's sports vs. total women's sports).

since women obviously have an interest in playing basketball, universities are obligated to maintain women's basketball programs unless expenditures & scholarships for men's sports are otherwise proportionally equivalent to or less than expenditures & scholarships for women's sports.

.......or maybe the "cash strapped" USF athletics department takes a $2M annual hit on women's basketball out of the goodness of their heart, or as a radical protest of the oppressive social patriarchy. LOL.

rhetorical question (we both already know the answer): what would happen if USF (or ANY university receiving public funds) cut their women's hoops team?

nice chat. 🍪

I stopped reading when I saw the length of the post. Nobody takes that long to admit they were wrong.

Check your invoice....the required per seat donations are itemized as “Scholarship Seating” which is used to fund Athletic Scholarship costs.

Here comes a 7 page post about how he didn’t say WBB doesn’t make money.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
