Taking the #2 spot is better than a puck to the personals.

Congrats IceBulls! Good luck in the regionals!

I didn't even know we had a hockey team.

It's a club team, not a varsity team.

Interestingly these club hockey teams are quiet competitive. The successful ones are in the same level of Div II scholarship programs.

One of my students out here is on the club rugby team. We're a tiny D3 private school and we just beat a huge D1 state school by over 50 points (12 tries to 2, couldn't keep track of the number of conversions, but we missed a BUNCH!). It was a UC, but not Cal. Cal would likely beat us by 10+ tries.

D3 club teams can be very competitive against D1 schools that don't put much emphasis on the club.

Is it true, that faculty and staff can play club sports?

Yes, at the university I teach at they can. We have three levels of ice hockey club teams and I think a few staff are on the third level (they are young though). Cycling and volleyball clubs have faculty on their teams.

Interesting.

I think there'd be a conflict of interest if a faculty member and one of their students were on the same sports club. Tough to give them a C after they've handed you the game-winning score on an assist...

Not a problem with me as I would probably miss the layup :lmao:
