Too  many threads on the same topic, but this is copy-pasted from the other thread...

O's job is to score.

D's job is to give the ball to the O

If O does it's job "too fast", D needs to be just as fast in getting it back!

SMH at the thought of scoring "too fast"

As long as they score yes you are correct but that's not going to be the case all the time. What happens when a three and out took fourty seconds off the clock and this happens three times in a row (hello Temple!), then the D is screwed.

3-n-outs aren't caused by tempo, they're caused by personnel/ playcall mismatches

I'll go out on a limb and say that the vast majority of those criticizing CCS before coaching one play aren't the ones who stood behind CWT for the little over 2 years while the team stunk.

I really don't remember who was where for the most part.  But I would guess the opposite.  The CWT defenders are still defending him (and criticizing CCS by proxy) while many of the skeptics turned to critics again once the second he bolted for the Big Green West.

Instead of commenting on Offense which isn't his forte maybe he should address how to increase aggression on D.  Darth  Vader for coordinator.

My point is no way can you score every time (at least not against a good defense) and when you don't successively (with a fast offense) this has to impact the d negatively. Maybe if you have depth at d you have a chance but we have never had that.

But you can't separate the D from the O. It's like ying and yang, Abbott and Costello, black and white cookie, Rocky and Apollo, etc. Football is the ultimate team sport.

This slowing down the offense talk is starting to anger me greatly.

Why does Charlie Strong hate QF so much? Ever since he's gotten here, he's wanted to slow him down more than opponents defensive coordinators.

Hello FSU as well.

Up tempo works but it needs to be applied at the right time and we had zero clock management last year.

We need to get better on defense if we want to be a more complete team and win in games like Temple and FSU.

If that means we have to have more sustained drives, so be it.

You guys need to relax, wasn't everyone ******** about the defense last year?
