california transplants...? That's why we want to replicate it?

You could have at least gone for the fact that it's becoming the mid-west's tech hub.

Austin is the red headed step child of Texas.

I might get down voted, but Strong is an upgrade over Taggart.

Gents, not because CWT was never a favorite of mine, but did do a great job this past year; this is an upgrade going into the 2017 season.   i wish coach T well, but leaving was a blessing

No, I'm still here.

Not sure what the argument about Austin vs Tampa is.. media markets? If you're talking about quality of living there is no contest. I think you'd be very hard pressed to find anyone preferring to live in Tampa. That is unless you're:

A. From New York and prefer to be around other New Yorkers

B. Are super wealthy and own a boat

C. Only listen to rap music.

I've lived in both Tampa (6 years) and Austin (3 years). So just my opinion.

yeah I've visited only once and loved it. I have a friend from UCF that moved to Austin and he liked Orlando a lot but said Austin blows it away. It just has an amazing environment and livability/quality of life.

The most striking difference is the lack of old and/or miserable people.

Wow this thread just hit the ****** talking about geography...,

I have to go to bat for Texas since I live between Austin and San Antonio and having lived in Tampa also.  The perception that Austin is somehow smaller or inferior to Tampa is wrong.  Drive I35 through Austin some afternoon and see how many hours it takes you to get from one side to the other.

Fresh article from ESPN on Strong/USF. No new info, but still worth checking out:

http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18243353/charlie-strong-preliminary-talks-south-florida-bulls-head-coaching-job

Well, the open jobs are shrinking fast and there are still good ones out there.  Cincy got their guy.  Houston got theirs.

Strong is also talking to Temple, but USF is a better fit for him and his background.  Schiano is the natural fit for Temple.

And if Schiano gets the Temple job, how long until Urban Meyer gets panic attacks again, losing so much staff?
