Embassy Suites is pretty nice, stayed there last year.  We just booked Hampton Inn Tutwiler which is downtown in walking distance to the pep rally.  Room is about $115 or so.  I believe we have 4 going in our group.

CAR POOL?

I'm considering the trip because I have to (I've never missed a bowl game)....but the first strike for me is that we are hosting my wife's family Christmas get-together the night of the 23rd.  If any additional strikes are needed, they would be timing and money.

So, just curious if anyone is interested in car pooling.

I made the roadtrip last year with my (then) 12 yr old son, but that was a little rough with just one driver.  Doubtful my boy can get out of his family Christmas obligations, so I'm looking at riding solo, which seems silly.  Thoughts?

My son and I are staying at the Redmont Hotel (since I'm a Hilton guy), which is just a few blocks from the pep rally and close to the Tutweiler (a Hampton).  Got a $134 rate there.  I'm debating whether I just go up Friday and then back Saturday after the game or come back Sunday.

I will certainly be up for a TBP get-together!

Not for me this year; 8 hours is a little much of a drive for just me, and even if I were to fly up at 7 AM and depart at 6 PM, $300 is a lot of money for a football game.

I will be driving over to Birmingham from Atlanta Friday night and back Saturday Afternoon. If anyone is flying in/out Atlanta I should have room for a few more. Looks like there are still decent flights on Southwest, Delta, and Spirit. $200-250 roundtrip.

My group of 3 will be there.  Driving up on Friday, back after the game.  Did it last year had a good time!
