Vanderbilt is the *only* SEC team I wouldn't care to play in a bowl game; they have no cachet.

Of the 7-5, or worse, teams in the SEC that are candidates. My ranking to play, in order:

  1. Georgia (7-5)
  2. Arkansas (7-5)
  3. South Carolina (6-6)
  4. Kentucky (7-5)
  5. Mississippi schools (5-7)
  6. Vanderbilt (6-6)

Any of the first 3 would leave me ecstatic and would be a nice feather in our caps.

1 or 3 would be my first choices.  I have a neighbor that is a Georgia grad and I used to live in Columbia, SC. On 2 and 3, we owe both of them a revenge game.

For the record Miss St might make a bowl, Ole Miss will not. There are 4 open slots left remaining and only two teams left that can get to six wins (Louisiana Lafayette and South Alabama) so best (or worst case) scenario is four 5-7 teams make it in.Selection is based on most recent APR score. Top four 5-7 teams are N. Texas (984 APR), Mississippi St (971), Texas (971) and Northern Illinois (970). I don't know how tie-breakers are used in case only two 5-7 teams become needed. So it could be Mississippi St or Texas. In either case I am somewhat certain that Vandy or SC will be the SEC rep for the BHam bowl.

Also keep in mind that the Military bowl is still possible for USF although geographically i would think Temple would go there and It is possible that BHam picks Houston meaning we go to St Pete.

I will be there, along with my two USF students.   We will drive up and stay on the 28th, go to game on the 29th, and drive back after the game.   Going on limited budget...

Both Sporting News and CBS have us in St. Pete against Wake or Boston College. A win against either would put us on the map nationally. Wake has big wins against UVA and Syracuse this year and BC beat NC State, Uconn, and Wake.

It doesn't appear that either Wake or BC has a win against a team over .500.

I am going to try to go even though work is telling me I can't hehe...

UGA would be great for attendance. USC would be my second USC bowl game (outback Clowney decapitation bowl).

Just want a decent team to play against.  SEC or ACC.

UGA oh please oh please! If so, I'm going for sure. All my years in the ATL dealing with the almost-but-not-quite-as-bad-as-UCF-arrogance from Bulldogs fans, I would throw my year-end budget out the window and force my football-averse daughters to attend for this!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
