Flowers A Handful

For the second time in three weeks, UConn is facing a dual threat quarterback. Diaco said he considers South Florida's Quinton Flowers a "more proficient runner" than Houston's Greg Ward Jr.

"He's more physical," Diaco said. "They run a little bit different. Quinton is more of a big back. He'll make you miss, too. He's incredibly talented. In terms of doing all the jobs of running, I would say he has more tools to run than Ward does."

South Florida junior tailback Marlon Mack, the program's all-time leading rusher, needs 93 to reach 3,000 for his career. His per-game average is 97.

If Diaco would have created a trophy for USF/UConn, it could have actually been a realistic rivalry.  This is the 14th time the 2 teams have played.  Not sure why he chose to create a rivalry with a team they had played one time.

Couple of big IFs but if USF wins the AAC and a NYE Bowl game QF should be a Heisman candidate.  Granted a G5 player has as much chance of winning a Heisman as a G5 team has of winning a National Title

Don't they already have those picked by NYE?

If he keeps doing what he's doing now and your scenario plays out, I think he'd almost have to be ... should, anyway.

Heck based on the numbers he should be at least be mentioned in the discussion this year, but again, uneven playing field I know.

Most of the front runners from the pre-season (Fournette, Cook, Mcaffery) are not having extremely eye-popping seasons.
