OPPONENT PREVIEW -  CINCINNATI:

UC LEADS SERIES, 8-5

 

UC is coming off a 27-20 home win over winless Miami (OH) on Saturday that improved their record to 3-1.

UC has downed UT Martin (28-7), won at Purdue (38-20) and lost at home to No. 6 Houston (40-16) on the year.

UC redshirt freshman QB Ross Trail led two fourth quarter drives and threw for 276 yards and 2 INT, going 25-of-38 on Saturday, while RB Tion Green ran for 83 yards and a TD. The Bearcats put up 461 yards of offense, 185 on the  ground, and 28 first downs while running 87 plays.

UC QB Hayden Moore played the first three games, but left the Houston game with an ankle injury. He ranks fourthin the AAC posting 261.7 passing yards per game and fourth in total offense at 280.7 ypg.

UC defense is led by senior linebackers Eric Wilson (10.5 tpg) and Antonio Kinard (8.2 tpg) who rank first and fifth, respectively, in tackles in the AAC.

UC ranks 10th in scoring offense (27.2 ppg) and rush offense (154.2 ypg) and ninth in total offense (420.0 ypg) in The American. They are fourth in passing offense (265.8 ypg) and 10th in total defense giving up 411.5 ypg.

UC leads the nation with 10 interceptions on the year. Six players have an INT, led by Mike Tyson with three.

USF finished the day with 65 points, the team’s most-ever in a conference game, breaking the record of 55 set against Louisville in 2007 while the Bulls were a member of the Big East. It was also the most points scored for the Bulls against an FBS opponent, beating the previous record of 64 set against UCF in 2007.

USF set a program and conference record with 51 points in the first half.

The offense scored touchdowns on each of its first four possessions and possessed the ball for a total of just 5:47 on those drives.

Quinton Flowers hit Rodney Adams for a 67-yard TD on the first play from scrimmage as USF went up 6-0 15 seconds into the game.

Eric Lee got a sack and forced a fumble recovered by Jamie Byrd inside the UC 10 on the Bearcats’ first possession.

Marlon Mack set a school record with his seventh 100-yard rushing game with 106 yards.

USF finished with 361 rushing yards, just shy of the program record of 377 yards.

USF scored on eight of its first nine drives. USF scored touchdowns on seven of those drives.

USF produced a season-high 561 yards of offense

Quinton Flowers threw a career-high four touchdown passes, including three on his first three pass attempts

The USF defense finished the night with a season-high six turnovers, the program’s most since 2007.
