Tion Green carried 18 times for 83 yards and a touchdown, and Mike Boone rushed 19 times for 74 yards and a TD. As always, UC wants to strike a balance between the run and pass games. The Bearcats rank just 91st nationally in rushing offense, but opportunities should be there against a USF run defense that ranks 118th. When UC passes Coach Tommy Tuberville again has not said who will start at quarterback. Usual starter Hayden Moore (ankle) missed last week’s game, but he could play if healthy. Ross Trail again could start for UC, after a relatively decent showing against Miami (276 yards passing, no touchdowns, rushed for a touchdown). Wide receiver Kahlil Lewis had a breakout game last week, with six catches for 88 yards. Nate Cole (23 catches, four TDs) and Devin Gray (18 catches, 18.4-yard average, one TD) remain the top targets. UC ranks 43rd nationally in passing offense. When USF runs Junior quarterback Quinton Flowers (6-0, 210 pounds) leads a potent USF offense that ranks 13th nationally in rushing. Flowers has ... ...
