Very interesting analysis...

http://www.todaysu.com/around-the-u/domino-theory-stanford-ucla-fsu-usf-larger-context/

"Houston and South Florida both being unbeaten heading into the AAC title game, which would make The American a likely representative in the playoff if Stanford is not unbeaten."

Let that sink in a minute...  "The American is a likely representative in the playoff"

Yes, yes, yes. There is A LOT of football left to play starting with the game Noon Saturday.

But for all the people spouting off that G5 could never get in... this should make you pause.

:conduct:conjecture and teasing. I want to see the voters put their voters where their purse strings are.

Love it. I was just talking o my wife about this last night, of course I prefaced it with, "I realize this is ridiculous but allow me to enter fantasy land for a moment...."

The SEC, ACC, and B1G champs are locks. If Houston runs the table it will be a toss up between them and a hypothetical unbeaten Stanford or Baylor.

If we run the table we get passed over for a 1 loss OK State team (I mean they got royally ****** and I think the committee would acknowledge that) or any other 1 loss P5 for that matter. Unless...the conspiracy theorists are right and they throw the G5 a bone once to protect from lawsuits.

Either way a lot of football to be played, and it is refreshing that we are even being mentioned in this hypothetical future.

Could you just imagine if TWO P5's were left out of the playoffs?

AAC does not lack good teams, it lacks huge fan bases and viewers.... That is what brings in the money.

Completely agree with this.  What would be interesting would be to see how viewership for the CFP games would be with us or Houston in it, though.  Would people watch to see what we're all about?  Or would people not watch, thinking the team we'd be playing will dominate us and they'll just watch the NC game?

Interesting to think about.
