Others grocers are made to eat gum from the bottom of Publix's shopping cart wheels. 2) The fried chicken is a cloud-9 sensation, and the subs make other grocers' subs look and taste like day-old convenience store hot dogs. 3) Smiles, a kind word, and help that seeks you out gets my love and my money more than Jessica Alba could ever hope...not that she needs either. I had a blast working there while going to USF and still love shopping there. Raptor nailed it in his post. They're the best. Period, end of story. I hate Safeway more than words can describe. I'd go to Trader Joes over Wegman's any day. Wegman's was alright, but I prefer publix. The grocery store situation is pretty bad here in California. Nob Hill/Raley's whatever leaves a lot to be desired. You can't even request products, subpar in store foods, bakery is a joke, no bogos, it's basically an Albertsons. I can't wait for Publix to dominate the Northeast and finally start moving west. I hope they make it to California.

All their other breads are SUPER tough. The Cuban bread is the only bread that doesn't rip your gums apart when you bite into it LOL

That certainly was as you say the bread is ... Tougher than a witch's tit. I recently switched to whole wheat and its far better. Good, soft bread. (1) publix sucks. (2) The sandwiches are pretty good cold. (3) Some of the girls are hot. So far, I think the only ones dissin' Publix are disgruntled, ex-associates ...

Most stores now have small toaster ovens. Get them to warm (not toast) the bread, and it softens up a lot--works well for me & my kids.
