What’s not debatable, and true to his surname is the Junior signal caller has blossomed since winning the starting role a year ago. It’s was a quarterback carousel for the Bulls until, the listed 6’0 dual-threat had something to prove. Flowers was offered scholarships from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee, but turned them aside. He didn’t want to be a wide receiver, nor a cornerback, Flowers wanted to lead the charge as a quarterback. Last season he earned the starting role out of camp and took advantage of it. Flowers 2290 passing yards was the most by a Bull since B.J. Daniels Junior season. Already, Flowers is on pace to blast last year away. Through the first two games he’s thrown for 528 yards with 350 of it coming last week against Northern Illinois, and 3,000 yards is definitely within reach. Just think, Flowers is just getting comfortable with targets Rodney Adams, Ryeshene Bronson and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Oh and I did mention, he’s got a former NFL quarterback in his ear with first year QB Coach Shaun King. Maybe Flowers has been overshadowed with the conference’s rushing champion in his back field in Marlon Mack. But with Mack out against the Huskies due to concussion protocol, Flowers turned in his best performance so far at USF. The tougher tests begin this week playing back-to-back ACC programs. It’s feasible the Bulls beat Syracuse and leave the Carrier Dome with their third win of the season to remain undefeated. Could you imagine going in to the showdown with second ranked Florida State, how many comparisons Flowers would receive to Daniels. Daniels had a coming out party in the programs biggest victory, shocking the Seminoles back in 2009. It could be the same opportunity for Flowers September 24th in front of an expected sellout crowd on his home field. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Flowers maybe considered short, but he’s turning out to be the big man on campus for USF.

He's got to show he can settle down with Syracuse, on foreign soil. If he does, I'll feel a lot better going into the FSU game. He's got no reason to be antsy either, so maybe he's just feeling the pressure of a new season and all the expectations on him. CWT & SK will hopefully be in his ear all week with their confidence to get him mentally ready. Looking forward, go QF & go Bulls!

WVU vs USF is. It was big for the program. WVU we had already beaten the previous year so it was no an unlikely win. FSU has just beaten down BYU the previous weak 50 to something. We lost Grothe for the year and in comes BJ Daniels. So I guess its all perspective but other than the win in Auburn I would put this as the most important. We punched them in the mouth. It's certainly top 5 for me though. I believe Auburn and WVU are higher.

Curious to hear how AW's foot is healing.

I was at the West Virginia game and that's the most fun I have ever at a game, the crowd was electric at that game. FSU was a great win, with BJ throwing the bombs, but for me the biggest win was at Auburn. I remember watching that game and that really seemed to create a lot of buzz about USF and was Grothe coming out party along with tough hittin players (we use to stone opposing players back then). Plus we cost the Auburn coach his job that year, and he is a real jerk off
