The problem is that I don't see us being able to reel in the likes of Boise State and Colorado State without completely renegotiating our TV deal(s). Even then, it will be daunting as there will be a lot of teams out West that are left behind in that scenario. I agree it would be the most desirable result, but I'm just not sure that is feasible.

Unless they get better offers from a P5, the AAC per team tv annual payout now is about $300,000 more than the MWC.

Why would we care since we are going into the B12.

Except that Boise State has a ton of exceptions carved into the deal that guarantees them far more than any other school in the MWC. They earn about $1.5 million more than the average MWC team and get to keep all of the money when they appear in one of the New Year 6 games. In 2015 that netted them $9.3 million in TV money versus $4.9 million for Fresno State, the #2 team in the MWC.

When OU and the smaller Texas schools get pissed because UH joined the B12 we should open the door for them to join the AAC.

That's the obvious solution...

For me it's about raiding the best the MWC. Let's assume we lose Cincinnati, Houston and Memphis. I would move to add the following and get to 14.

Eastern Division

Connecticut

Temple

Navy

East Carolina

Central Florida

South Florida

Tulane

Western Division

Tulsa

SMU

Air Force

Colorado State

Boise State

San Diego State

UNLV

Football - 8 conference games (6 games against division, 2 against opposing division)

Basketball - 19 conference games (12 games against division. 7 against opposing division)

And why would those MWC schools come to the American? The difference is 300k (chump change) and Boise would be taking a pay cut. Networks would not be giving us any more.

MTSU would be a good choice.

OCS is not a mark for excellence.

(e.g. FIU and UM)

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
