Re FSU, if I recall correctly, last Winter there was a buzz that FSU approached UCF about travelling to Tallahassee, with no return game -- and O'Leary rejected the idea.

It's not like UF is doing us any favors either. Whoop-dee-doo. So nice of them to let us travel to The Swamp TWICE, with no return game.

Miami, OTH, has been refreshingly accomodating.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Personally, I think when O'Leary claims UCF is done with scheduling 2ferNones or 1ferNones, I think it's a bit pigheaded. We should take on the Big 3 every chance we get. Just one Win could change everything.

I think GOL is trying to get UCF to start thinking and acting like a top divison 1A program.  It hurts UCF to sign so many 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 contracts.  That is why UCF always plays 4 and 5 games at home each year.  We need 6-7 games a year at home to attract fans and stadium money.  With a decent crowd on campus they will make more than the 150K-250K they will get for travelling.

I like the idea of 1-1's or 2-2's.  Easier said than done though...

UF has Miami and FSU, but no matter what beyond that, they will only play OOC at home.  The Gators are not good enough to get that when other schools better than them are willing to go away when making deals with other schools.

Notre Dame has their traditional foes that they travel back and forth with.  Didn't FSU go to Louisville?  Ohio State went to NC State.  Syracuse, West Virginia and Virginia Tech were nice to agree to come to Orlando.

What has Florida done for anyone outside of Miami and Florida State?  We all want to make money, but they lose out in their SOS, which translates to bad BCS rankings(it affects the polls indirectly).

ftu/ou/oc needs to win a game before they can be considered a top 1a program

UF's scheduling is the way it is because of the Georgia game being on a neutral site every year.

UF isn't going to play a 5 home game schedule to accomidate Michigan.

You'll see UF add national teams when the 12th game is finally approved.

Nice try but it's funny how Georgia usually found another quality opponent to go along with Ga Tech each year and Florida, until shamed into not avoiding UM any longer, kept scheduling patsies to go along with FSU.  They are weenies ...

Really, like who?  The games with Clemson were with a 12 game schedule.

UGA hasn't travelled for a non GT out of conference game since the SEC went to an 8 game schedule in 1992.

Maybe in 94/95 when UF-UGA went home and home?

Michigan > Florida.  Not even close.

Florida has to bring in lame schools like Eastern Michigan cause top schools want nothing to do with a school that won't return the favor.

Michigan would play 5 if the schedule panned out that way.  They schedule tough teams like ND, Oregon, Washington as opposed to EMU, Ohio, and Middle Tennessee State.

Honestly, this shouldn't be that hard to comprehend.  Michigan hasn't played less than 6 home games in a year since WW2.

Michigan can play ND and whever every year because all of their other rivals are in conference.  They have also hosted a few of the Pigskin Classic games, giving them seven home games.  SEC schools do not have that luxury.

Anything else?

To throw some more facts in there...

Since '00 Michigan has played 3 out of conference games a year (not counting Pigskin games).

Two of the 3 OOC opponents a year have been schools from the following list...

CMU

Houston

WMU

Utah (scheduled before they were good)

Miami, OH

WMU again

Bowling Green

Rice

Amazingly, UF has played similar schools:

Marshall

Southern Miss

Directional Louisiana schools

UCF

MTSU, etc.

Mich doesn't play ND every year.  When they didn't play ND they played a home and home with UCLA and one with Washington.  They played ND and Washington in the same year in 2002, when there was a 12th game.

So Mich plays ND/Wash/UCLA... UF plays FSU.
