Watching these trials with athletes from many colleges, have yet to see a Bull yet.

USF's Matthew O'Neal: "I’m grateful to be among great jumpers here in Oregon and I’m looking forward to being back here in July for the Olympic Trials (July 1-10).”

From what I understand, Oregon has probably the best Track and Field facilities and coaching in America.  Best of luck to him.

USF doesn't have swim teams, but congrats to Clearwater, Fl.  swimmer Melanie Margalis who qualified tonight for Olympic team with her 200 individual medley and 200 free swims.  She's a good kid and will represent Tampa Bay area well at Rio games.

Why don't they add swimming? With the area talent seems like a no-brainer. I really wish USF had some program geared toward Olympic competition. It's not like none of the American have swimming.

USF did have swim teams years ago.  Money is probably why USF doesn't now.  For starters a new pool would be needed on campus.  Many colleges just have women's teams and not men's to comply with Title IX.  Tampa Bay and state of Florida produce tons of young fast swimmers so fielding a USF swim team would be no problem

Short answer, money.  As was mentioned, a new aquatics facility would need to be built, then there's staff salaries, scholarships, travel expenses, etc.

We have a national championship in swimming to our name (the only one I believe). It is a shame they dropped the program.

Another reason to hope the football program does good and brings in $$$.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
